Can having a urinary tract infection effect home pregnancy tests? |
This may be kinda long but its really important, please help me. Thank you so much Miss_Thang30, thats the exact answer i was looking for. :) I would give you best answer but I'm not on level 2 yet No. White blood cells won't do anything to a HPT. No matter what type of blood cells are in your urine, they will not effect a pregnancy test, even with a urinary tract infection if you were pregnant your urine would have hcg in it which would give you a positive, if you were far enough alon. I just read your first line. nope I beg to differ with the other answers respectivly. When I first thought I could be pregnant with my son I tested and tested and they were all negative, couple weeks later I'm still testing and start to get the symptoms of a UTI but still negative now usually I can use home remedies and fight off the infection but this time was bad so I went to the doctor and he gave me a UTI test and it showed that I did have one and have had it for a while, I explained to him while I was there that I wasn't having a period anyways I got my meds and eventually the UTI cleared up and then finally I got a positive. I went back to the doctor and he explained to me that in early pregnancy the UTI can knock the HCG hormone out of the way and give you a false reading. Now that may be something that rarely happens but I know for a face that my infection did give me negative results when they were positive. |
