How would i know if i had a urinary tract infection? Pain in the area around your bladder (usually more localized than period cramps), burning sensation during urination and the presence of blood or pus in your urine. Also, a minor fever, hot/cold flashes and a change in the colour of your urine can signal an infection. Drink a lot of cranberry juice and water. If the infection lasts longer than a few days to a week, you notice a lot of blood in your urine or you find that you're having difficultly peeing, go see a doctor. If the urine takes on a brownish colour, it's a sign of muscle or liver damage, and needs to be treated right away.
