Varicose veins and leg / foot swelling? |
I am scheduled to have my vericose veins removed sometime in January, question is ..I have major swelling of my feet and lower legs, will this go away after my surgery ( after healing time)? Been miserable with this for years and in the last 6 months it has gotten progressively worse. compression stockings or walking no longer help to releave the pain and swelling. Happy I am finally getting this done but am concerned that with the surgery and re-routing of blood will the swelling be relieved? No not diabetic, compression stockings have not helped much, have had vericose veins for about 30 years, Dr said they were huge masses that needed to be removed. That is why I am having the surgery. Just am hoping to hear from someone who had the same problem who had surgery with a good outcome. Most patients notice a significant improvement in their symptoms after surgery. By a month post-op, you should be feeling much better. Sounds like edema... it's very painful. Compression stocking and elevating your feet should help some. Not sure if surgery will help, did you ask your doctor? Are you diabetic? |
