How can I prevent varicose veins while pregnant? |
I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first and I think I already found my first varicose vein. i know it's in my heredity bc my mom has them and got them after she had me (her second child) she didnt get them with my brother (lol maybe the myth that being pregnant with a girl you lose your beauty cause it goes to her lol) so how can I prevent varicose veins? I already have what looks like the start of one and am mad about it! oh and I'm only 24 and my mom was 39 when she had me so I thought my age would spare me from the veins but scared it won't! water and exercise might help...that seems to be a good answer for all pregnancy related ailments :) they have some panty hoses that help with vericose veins during pregnancy, and try to stay off of your feet as much as possible. Why don't you try to stay off your feet for a while like put your legs up when you're on your couch or on a chair or something, don't worry usually they go away after you have your baby. Go to this website it has some good info, and congrats on your baby!! My mom has them real bad and I always worried too but fortunately I only got one tiny one behind my knee. Try not to stay on your feet too long and if you have too don't stand in one spot, move around. Also, when you sit never cross your legs and try to elevate them at night or whenever you can. Hope that helps. I am also 24 years old and just spotted my first varicose vein. I bought the support hose that are supposed to help but they are uncomfortable and make me really hot. I have also heard exercising and massage to stimulate circulation helps. Varicose veins are caused by blood pooling in the veins. This really doesn't answer, but I wanted to share..I had my first vericrose vein at 20..i'm 22 now and have maybe 3 (21 weeks pregnant) :( I exercised with my first pregnancy. Did a lot of walking to get out of the house and some yard work. This helped keep my legs in great shape. Also keeping them up every time you sit down and drink plenty of water too. |
