Varicose veins in the brain? |
Is there a medical term for this condition and can they effect a persons mental health? My grandmother has one, she is approaching 90years old. Ever since she seems to be sleeping all day, she says to my aunt that she wants to die and she just isnt the lively woman she used to be. And a year and a half ago, her son( my uncle) died suddenly of a heart attack. Shes gotten much worse since then. Am i worrying over nothing? please give me some insight. thank you. atherosclerosis maybe and mini-infarction ischaemiac dementia I have never heard of varicose veins in the brain and can't find any info about them. Are you sure this is what she meant? Her condition sounds like a combination of age and depression. After losing a child it is typical. Try to find something she used to do - a craft or hobby? - to get her interest again. Maybe peak her interest with something to solve or help with. Again, remember her age and it is typical behavior. She has lived a lot longer than the average 77 years. I hope she lives many more but prepare yourself anyway. Good luck! I think you might be referring to a brain aneurysm which is a weak blood vessel that balloons out and can burst. |
