Varicose Veins in Children? |
Has anyone ever heard of this? My 8 year old cousin has developed one on her calf. She lives out of state, so I can't visually verify that's what it is, but my grandmother believes it to be varicose. If it helps, my cousin had a hernia on her navel after she was born, and she lives with smokers. It is very unusual for kids to have varicose veins but a lot of kids consume far too much table sugar and that includes sweet foods such as desserts, cakes, cookies, biscuits, chocolate and ice cream and apparently sugar can cause varicose veins. See items 33 and 135 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm . |
