Blood Clots & Varicose Veins (repost since no one answered)?

I'm not sure what exactly is going on here, but I keep getting this sharp pain in my left calf on the inside of my leg only. It started a few hours ago and was over quickly, but now it just wants to linger. The pain also feels warm, but my skin is quite cool to the touch. I've been having trouble with swelling in that leg for a while so I can't really tell if it's more swollen then usual. Elevating it is not helping. Should I maybe call L&D and ask a nurse or just wait until I go to the doc in the morning? It really hurts! Any advice from someone who's had similar problems would be appreciated.

No not cramps. I get those and this feels totally different.

I would definitely call, don't play around with your health. You never klnow, it's better to stop a complication before it starts.
Hope this helps...

If it's cramping, try to flex your foot towards your leg as high as you can and massage your calf, eating bananas or tomatoes also help in that case, but if it hurting too much, then don't massage it cause if you have a blood clot (which are fairly common during pregnancy) you will make it move further up.

If they are not cramps call your Doctor. Blood clots are not to be overlooked.

There is a possibility of DVT (deep vein thrombosis). This is an emergency...call your doctor, because the risks are too great as the clot can move to heart or brain very quickly resulting in death.

I hope this is not the case, but it is nothing to play guessing games with, get it checked out ASAP. Good luck!

I haven't had this problem, but that is very serious and I think you need to call your doctor right now. Pregnancy can cause clots that can be extremely dangerous. Please call someone now, or head to the emergency room.
Good luck! Don't mean to scare you!

It could be a pinched nerve or a muscle cramp. But calling the nurse wouldn't be a bad move. They would be able to better assess if its something that should be looked at now or can wait until morning.

I'm not really sure why you would call L&D unless of course your pregnant...in that case...if you are...don't *** around...call the nurse now.

never had that problem... call your dr office, no matter how late most have answering services and they will pass your message or number on to the dr....but call the dr

are you eating too much salt? that will make things worse. when in doubt call. no need to chance when it comes to your baby!

use ur hand to pull ur toes. Don't stretch with ur toes as this can make them worse.

check your last question, i posted an answer a couple minutes ago

I would call. Much better safe than sorry.

yes i would call L&D and ask them if it hurts

go to see a dr as soon as u can it could b serious, called DVT deep vein thrombosis

Hello

I have a blood clotting disorder, and what you are experiencing sounds like it may be a blood clot. The swelling and pain should be looked at ASAP, as blood clots can break off and travel to the brain, lungs or heart. I am not trying to scare you, but you should see a doctor ASAP.

Also, please note that pregnancy increases your chances of clotting.

You should get checked for Factor V Leiden. Many women have it and have no idea...it is what I have. Many women find out they have it because they form blood clots, especially while pregnant. it causes DVTs

Any swelling should be taken seriously!

lay down on your back with your legs straight out in front of you, toes facing up. Now point the tops of your toes towards your face..if that gives a sharp pain in your leg, then you need to call your Dr. ASAP. What you have are signs of a blood clot..not saying that is what it is but better safe than sorry. Even if you do that test and there is no pain you need to call your Dr just incase. It is very serious.

I am not trying to scare you, it could be nothing but you should make sure. Best of luck!!!
