Help..... Varicose Veins? |
I am considering having something done about my Varicose Veins. They are not really "bad", but I am afraid that if I do not do something now, they are going to get really bad! Can anyone tell me what is involved with this sort of treatment...... cost, pain, options, etc?? I know my insurance will not pay for it, so cost is the biggest issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! :) I also have varicose veins and have had them treated a number of times - they always come back! The last treatment done was through injection - they inject a solution into the vein that makes the vein collapse and that will pretty much kill the vein. In a few weeks, the vein is reabsorbed. You may get a little dark circle where the shot was given. One thing that I don't like is that you get a whole lot of shots in one session and I'm not much of a fan for needles even though the needle is pretty thin. The cost was about $300 per session and it took me 5 sessions the last time. I'm looking into laser treatment, but don't have much info on that yet. I think they use a needle to remove them. Usually if you go to a plastic surgeon they will give you a free consultaion. They do it while you are awake. Usually $50.00 to 300.00 I had both legs shot with saline to get rid of spider veins for $250 (it was a few years ago though). The veins are already back in the exact same spots (some never went away). It was not pleasant. Felt like bee stings. It was a waste of money. Now I just consider them proof that I'm a hardworking, self-sacrificing mom and I quit being so vane. Get it. Buy some gradient support stoppings or consider surgery. |
