Can varicose veins case blood clots? Varicose veins do not cause the bloot clots but having them puts you at hight risk for them since blood can pool in the area of the vein that balloons out. i've heard they can..i have them on my legs and my dr.told me if my legs start really hurting to go to the hosp.as it could be blood clots,,,my ankles swell often'and now i'm scard,, |
