Info on Varicose veins? |
can you get varicose veins removed if you're overweight? Is there a weight requirement doctors require before they'll do the procedure? How much does varicose vein removal (laser not stripping) cost- what's the range? Most insurance companies won't cover surgery for varicose veins for cosmetic purposes. As to a "weight requirement", I doubt it. A lot of our varicose vein patients are overweight. However, a surgeon may feel, in a particular patient's case, that weght loss should come first. The type of surgery depends on 2 things : 1) the patient's anatomy. Veins that are too "curvy" are often inappropriate for laser/radio frequency ablation. 2) the equipment available at a particular hospital Source(s): vascular surgery PA go to webmd |
