Do compression hose for varicose veins help or worsen veins?

Specifically, how bad do veins need to be to make compression hose worthwhile?

I have read that elastic/compression CAUSE varicose veins and yet some say to use compression hose to keep veins from getting worse.

I am about to go on a trip requiring lots of walking and do not have time to go to the doctor. The orthopedist can measure and fit the hose for me but they are very expensive.

I am thinking of the ones which go up to the thigh rather than waist.

I have three or four veins which bulge upon standing in the front of the lower leg. 2 of these I've had with no change for 15 years.

Any personal experience on this will be appreciated. I do not know if these compression hose will help my veins or worsen them!!! I am worried. Thanks in advance.

Hi,Murp,I have no medical advice on this matter, but as a woman and out of experience,I am against any compression
hose because when my legs hurt I can't even wear normal
panty hoses.
My advice is the following:get the following:
Vitiveine from Arkopharma gel for 2 to 3 daily massages
from under the feet to the thighs.Ingredients are
vigne rouge,fragon.hamamelis and marronniers d'Inde.
you get an immediate response of relief and well-doing.
Trust me,it's a miracle gel.
You'll enjoy your trip Source(s): just me
