Is there a connection between the birth control pill and varicose veins?

A friend of ours stated this, and since it's never been used by us (nor do we intend to), we were just curious if there is grounds to this claim. I intend to do more research online, but thought I'd post it as a quesiton here too.

Yes, some birth control pills with higher oestrogen content, ie above 30mcg, can cause enlarged veins, ie varicose veins.
YES, IF YOU HAVE DEVELOPER VARICOSE VEINS SINCE YOU STARTED THE PILL CALL THE DR ASAP. THE PILL CAN CAUSE DEADLY BLOOD CLOTS. AND THEY USUALLY START IN THE LEGS
