Violence against women?

why do men hit women i dont understand is it some power thing?

im not an ignorant bigot!!i guess your one of these men that have been hit by a woman well done to her.

I think in some sick way it is. My father was violent and I was scared of him. I don't know if there will ever be an exact answer to this question as I don't think they know sometimes why they do it themselves. I think alcohol contributes to the feeling of power though. Most of these men I guess would be drinkers.

Not all men do. And there are women that beat their men. I don't think it's a power thing, I think it's out of insecurity.

why do women nag, nag, nag, won't stop nagging get up in a guys face saying terrible things basically begging to get socked so when they finally do they can say "OMG I am abused give me sympathy!" Is it some kind of power thing? As a women I can't stand the way I see girls treating their men and I know plenty of girls who hit first and that is wrong as well.

What a sexist little question, you ignorant bigot! Why do humans hit humans? Why does it matter what sex the human is when they get hit? Who is keeping score?

People like YOU are the reason men hit women. People like you, who need to label the victims and attackers, and stereotype all others by these labels.

Yes it is a power thing alright and totally not acceptable and quite often take up with the sort of women who will take it - women who come to believe that they deserve being hit and the man might apologize and say they'll never do it again but once is enough and best to walk away from a man like that as he'll keep doing it and make the woman totally lose any self-esteem she has left. Another option if she wants to stay with said abuser is for her to learn kick boxing /martial arts whatever to a high level and then kick the s.....t out of him next time he attacks her and /or tell a male family figure about it and have him on hand to belt the guy up. Wife bashers etc. are basically bullies and like to chose meek little women as their partners.

men do hit women .. sometimes its a power thing.. sometimes tho its because their just plain mad and can't control their anger.. that was the reason my ex nearly killed me......for some having people fear you boosts their precious ego.. but i believe that any hitting no matter if a man does it or a woman does it is wrong.. running their life with fear and having people cow tow to them.. doesn't make a man "a man" .. it takes far greater strength to walk away then it does to hit

Both men and women have anger problems and use physical violence as a form of abuse. It is seen more in the form of men against women and there are a plethora of reasons why. None of the reasons are good or acceptable.

Check out the sites I listed and pass the information on to others. It's nothing to be ashamed of if you're being abused mentally, physically or emotionally. It all hurts and no one deserves it.

The same reasons men hit other men. Either because they deserve it or the hitters are assholes.

From personal experience, observation, and knowledge of psychology, it is of my opinion that the violent one - whether male or female - harbors an underlying anger that is ever present.

It is hard to control. It is close to intolerable to possess it. It, therefore, erupts from time to time, and manifest itself in physical violence.

When the hitting is over, the person obtains a sense of calm and serentity that has been sorely missing in his/her life. It's likened to an opiate addiction.
