What are men's roles and responsiblities in ending violence against women?

Mister M: you could answer the question...for once. but no, wait, you'd rather talk nonsense and show your ignorance. keep on with that! it is totally working.

cassius: you are missing the point.

Not hitting women obviously. Recognising it as a real problem.
And the role of feminists: to stop thinking of men in general as potential abusers, instead of rational beings who can be educated. Only real abusers should go to jail, but weighted laws causes innocent men to side with men they otherwise wouldn't tolerate.

To make sure they don't perpetuate violence against women. Women also have the same responsibility towards men.

be nice to all women
interject himself in a position where a woman appears to be in danger

Our responsibility as men is to end UNPROVOKED violence, but to not let women use us as doormats and put them in their place when needed.

EVERYTHING!

Men's role and responsibility in ending violence against women is precisely the same as women's role and responsibility in ending violence against men...

It's a shame we have to focus on only 1/2 the population... ahh of course, it's that good ol' selective equality showing through.

None Iam sorry but you cant make me responsible for what somebody else does.

To always remember that wife beating = bad, even if shes taking half of everything you own and gobbing off at you in a high pitched voice as she does it, usually with a load of that windmill slapping that women do when they are trying to get physical.

Once the violence is eliminated, were all going to shift focus onto the female trait of getting pregnant to ensnare men. It doesn't cause bruises like a bit of beating, but its a female only weapon and it wrecks lives just the same.

Men guilty of such should get help. Religions that extol such behaviour should be banned. Women should not allow themselves to be doormats/punchbags to lousy men and should make better judgement calls and get out of poor relationships.

I actually think women have a greater responsibility than men on this one.
Most abusive husbands/boyfriends come from homes where their mother experienced the same thing and didn't leave. More needs to be done to teach these women that they're not the only ones affected by their choice to stay, and more needs to be done to get them out. You can only be a victim for so long before it's time to stand up for yourself.

I would talk about shared responsabilities, because is a social problem. I think gender violence start when people think violence forms are the way in which man (and sometimes woman ) shows love

None..

I care a lot more about ending violence against men

Most of us men are doing all we can. We're not the ones saying....."oohhh, he's a bad boy, that's hot." Or how about...."Prison pen pal program, that sounds like a great place to meet guys."

I agree with Y!A Scapegoat. Exactly that. If women appear in danger we will protect them but if they disrespect us for no reason, we will put them in their place. Men are not doormats for women anymore.

Men's roles and reponsiblities is to control anger and WALK AWAY! We know the law is chivalrous towards women, yet there is always one who has to hit his provoking wife and then get sent to jail for it. Our responbility is teach everyone to walk away from provoking situations. That's one of the roles I Think we should support as men.

Believe it or not, I hear that homosexuals get abused too. This not only includes men but includes...Gasp...WOMEN TOO! O.M.G... What are Women's Roles and Responsibilities in ending violence against women BY abusive women?

P.S. - Kapitein Wreker, I love your comment.
