How can we stop domestic violence against women?

Stopping domestic violence is something lots have people have tried. Maybe we should try empowering victims to walk away/ leave and ask for help

As long as we have people who cannot handle a stressful situation with patience,thought, and verbalization we will have violence of all types. I've had a heck of a time not punching my wife in the head. I'm sure there are a million women out there who would love to bang their old man over the head with something sometimes but we use our intelligence and patience to find another way.

I think it would help if the blame for it were placed squarely on the abusers. How many times have you heard people asking, "Why does she stay with him?" Uh, because he will kill her if she leaves. And if she presses charges eventually he will be out of jail and after her. You rarely hear, "What a crazy piece of crap he is"
People blame the victim for the abuse all of the time. It's wierd. And it creates the perfect public attitude for these freaks to keep doing what they are doing.

Education is the only way. Educate boys as they grow up that hitting ANYbody to solve something isn't the way. And telling your son that it's not ok to hit as he watches your husband beat you isn't education, that's showing him that it's ok. Parents need to teach by words AND actions.

It has been around for thousands of years, I don't really know how you would stop it.
But let's not forget that not all domestic violence is against women.
There are millions of women out there that are violent against their men as well.

Um it's been around since the beginning of time. Or since the beginning of monogamy.

This generation will not end drug abuse, domestic violence, racism...etc etc.

It goes both ways to men too unfortunately. If domestic violence happens report it to the police and don't allow it to continue. Zero tolerance.

Women should be more selective.
and men need to learn how to channel their anger differently

No one can't, some men have huge egos and get things done by using their strength.. or they can't control their anger... stupid weak men.

Stop the domestic nagging.

teach them self defense
