Muslim women, how often if ever has your husband beat you? did you ever see any violence against your mother?

do you think "its your fault" or "his right"?

islam and christianity are wrong so sying christians do it doesn't justify islamic beliefs that it is.

Actually, the bigger question is why Muslim men don't make laws in Muslim countries to punish such behavior. Or if they do, they don't enforce those laws. However, Christian and Jewish men do make such laws and enforce them.

Muslims, or Yahoo overlords, before you delete this answer, bear in mind that many Western men (soldiers, marines, sailor, etc.) have seen this behavior in the Middle East in the past few years, women beaten on the streets, and there have been many altercations between American men and the Muslims behaving this way. This is not Muslim bashing or hearsay, these are eye witness accounts. So even though yes, Christian men do sometime beat their wives, other Christian men held them guilty and will punish them.

I guess I'll get a violation from Yahoo for this, but not before people have seen it. God bless.

Muslims are forbidden to hit or beat their wife. It's also forbidden to speak with one another in a hurtful and rude way. The same goes for the Wives. If you ever hear a man hitting their wife, there are several reasons:
1)They're illiterate and don't know how to respect women.
2)Obviously, they did not study enough of Islam and have a certain hate for women.
3)They are mentally impared and have domestic abuse issues

Honestly, I've never seen it in my family, and the only time I heard of it is in cases of fvcked up societies where men think they have some power of women.

The words 'Domestic violence' weren't created by muslims, and occurs just as much in non-muslim/non-christian households, if not more.

And fyi, Islamic beliefs do not contain beating wives, so please do not be so quick to assume that something is wrong when you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm married to a Muslim, and he has never laid a hand on me. When we argue, he gives me the silent treatment.

I have three mothers-in-law, and they are not beaten by my Father-in-Law. I did hear about one guy who beat his wife, but that was a problem with him (anger issues), and not anything to do with his religion.

Nah. I'm not married, but my father has never laid a hand on my mother or any of his children. It's not allowed, Islam, you're not supposed to hit your children, and it's punishable if you beat your wife.
Especially if a mark is left, like a bruise.

You do know that men of all religions/non religions are capable of beating their wives, and they do it...

i know people who are meant to be good christians who beat their wifes so dont think its a muslim problem it just about right and wrong

..................

His right, as saith muhammed.

But that's if she's been disobedient.

My Husband has never laid a hand on me nor has my father in law ever laid a hand on his wives, my father isn't muslim but he never hit my mother, although she hit him a few times. None of my friends husbands beat them we are all pretty religious muslims. That being said domestic violence is a problem in most societies. And yeah most muslim countries don't have laws against that which is apalling but they are exactly anything like Islamic states and really for all the laws this country has about domestic violence it doesn't help all that much anyways. but again I've never seen a man muslim or otherwise hit a woman. Any man who beats a woman is not a man and needs to grow up, and they need help with anger management and control issues. So I think you need to stop being such a bigot and if you want to crusade against violence against women do it against all men who beat women.

Lol Dehumanized by wearing the Burqa, or Niqab you've to to be kidding me?????????????? Guess What I'm A human I know I am a human and I am as good as but no better than any other human, why do you see it as dehumanizing because you view women as objects something to only be seen? Forgetting The taliban because they are misguided, most women who wear the Niqab or Burqa do so because we choose to, do you honestly think that muslim women are oppressed and meek you obviously are not muslim nor have you been in a muslim home, I wear what I want, the Niqab is for me a part of completing my faith, now your issue seems to be with religion in general so I won't bother trying too too hard to change your mind.
