I support it.

Men can stand up for themselves and beat up the person who tries to to touch them

women and children are more vulnerable. If a women is harassed or raped it can scar us for life. In some countries if a women is raped then she is killed.

Yes, anyone who doesn't is a misogynist.

No, because it is discriminatory and is not supported by the facts.

The fact is that women initiate domestic violence at rates equal to men, both in one-sided violence and in mutual violence. VAWA distorts the facts and only blames men.

A second fact is that it offers no protections, no shelter, no help to men who are victims of domestic violence, and it offers no help to them when they are trying to protect themselves and their children from violent women.

And, let's not forget, studies show that women commit the majority of child abuse, too.

Now, if this legislation was radically changed to protect all victims of domestic violence, and offer protection to all equally, then it would be worth supporting. As is, it's a piece of excrement.

Why do you leftists disregard all the scientific and peer reviewed studies that absolutely, without doubt, show that women are no less violent than men? And the only reason women get harmed more is because they are smaller than men; but men are dying and going to the hospital, too.

This is not about men being able to protect themselves, but about equal treatment by the law. There are no shelters they can take their children to to protect them from a violent wife and mother. There is no government help for them.

Portraying domestic violence as only committed by men with women being victims is a disgraceful lie and a disregard for the facts. That's what VAWA does. And that's why I consider people who support it to be idiots.

If a disgruntled ex girlfriend can go to the Feds and claim I beat her two years ago and they can throw me in jail with no proof? Then no. I don't support it.
If it is set up to help women defend themselves and teach them how to fight back then I am all for it.

How about the Violence against ANYONE act???? Seems you women want equality but then turn around and want special treatment. The law of the land has a serious double standard. But no, no one should abuse a woman, child or even... no woman should abuse a man. AND LOT OF WOMEN ABUSE THE SYSTEM FOR REVENGE.

In those countries you speak of being raped taints a woman's purity. Those are countries where women are objects of sex and if a man wanted to rape her it is her fault for being lustfully attractive. Also she cannot be married after being made unpure so it's best just to dispose of her.

I think it's redundant. Violence against anyone is already a crime. It's called assault and battery. Why should one's gender have anything to do with it?

I support violence against anyone. A woman doesn't have the right to put her hands on a man any more than a man does a woman in my opinion. I think too many woman play games with the system...i have seen it many of times.

Yes, definitely. The though of women being hit is just disgusting and awful. I totally support this act. Women and children have rights and this act was a very good thought.

I support not doing violence against ladies. There are many women OTOH that need their face smacked around.
