Why is violence against women more important than other types of violence?

Like violence against men and children for instance. Why is making your wife across the face worst than smacking your child or husband across the face?

Also, most violence that occurs is man-on-man violence and more men get killed from violence than women... so isn't that a bigger issue? Whats so special about women that violence is a bigger issue for them than everyone else?

Because of feminism and womens selfishness, false statistics, stupid laws, men that dont knowany better and think chivalry is alive and well and money to the industry.

Woman (mothers) are the larger contibutor to child violence than Fathers by far.

Society will one day wake up to the farce of a domestic violence industry of today,

Thank you ashley you put my link into perspective
there shouldnt be violonce no matter what and children should be the number one priorty of being protected
well, in the sense that women are generally smaller, slower and weaker (physically) than men, I guess it is considered more important by some to ensure they are adequately protected against violence and that perpetrators of the same violence are deterred and punished properly.

However, in a moral sense, I think no-one could argue that violence against women is worse than violence against men or is more worthy of punishment or retribution.
peices of **** hitting a ******* girl they should let me beat the crap out of them and show them whos boss.

Its just cowardly and discusting to hit a ******* girl, they deserve it. :) You ask why is it worse to get beaten by a guy? Well hmmm, guys are phsyicaly stronger, and thats an unfair disadvantage. like fighting with a knife, and the other with out. Your question is just dumb. you stupid dicks
Because women are the weaker sex, they need our protection, pity them, don't compare with them. If I smack you across your face, you will fight back. If I smack a woman across her face, she will fall down and start crying. Capeche.
Where are you getting this from. I have a degree in criminal justice and we heard more about racial and teen and gang violence than domestic situations. The reason you don't hear about many situations about a woman abusing a man is because most men do not want to admit to being abused by a woman.
Violence against women is the most common issue that is deeply rooted within the culture (especially in third world countries, rural and urban poor places).

Allow me to stress on the statement I gave you.

I assume you're living an average-above average lifestyle. Because, cases such as violence against women are seen/experienced mostly in (urban or rural) poor places and they don't fight for it.

Let me give you reasons:

1. Because you're living an average-above average lifestyle, enjoying the given shelter, nutrition, proper education, laws of the land and the like, you are not aware of the hardships that people in poor places experience. Those people (especially women and their children. These two words, women and children, are usually together when referring to abuses) are not aware of their rights! Unlike you, they have no proper education and the capacity to know the laws regarding their rights as human beings, citizens of the land and as women (and children).

2. If you agree with me on this, poor people are occupying the larger part of any country's population (especially in Third World Countries) and with point number 1, more women (and their children) are abused.

3. And because they do not know their rights, how can they defend themselves?

4. Violence against women (especially domestic violence) is part of the culture (especially in third world countries) because of the living traditions that have govern humanity that women are subordinate to men.

5. Also, because of the 'conservative' charactestics and pride of women, who would admit that they have been abused exposing them to the public eye and even accusing her of the cause of the abuse. Example: a girl raped, would she proudly say that she was raped? And if she did and went to court, people can and will accuse her of seducing the rapist.

You said that "most violence that occurs is man-on-man violence and more men get killed from violence than women... so isn't that a bigger issue?" It is a big issue, but these men would fight each other, defend themselves...would women do the same? May be some, but will they win?

"Whats so special about women that violence is a bigger issue for them than everyone else?" - hmm...Your mother, sister/s and girlfriend/s are women. Aren't they special enough to you? Would you abuse them? If they're abused, wouldn't you protect them? (well...this is not applicable if you yourself is for one an abuser)

Did I manage to answer your questions? Hehe!
