What should the doctors specalisation be if i want to consult him on weight management?

im indian, and 'dieticians' are rare to find over here

Any internist or general practicioner should be able to give good advice on a weight loss regiment, includind diet advice and an exercise program suitible for your specific condition.

And, like the other person answering mentioned, almost anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, but, through your regular doctor, you should be able to find one, locally, that can advise you about foods and cooking techniques that fit with YOUR lifestyle and geographic location. It wouldn't do you much good to recommend certain foods if they are not available in your part of the world.

The great thing about living in India is their long tradition of cooking with wonderful veggie dishes in savory sauces. I'm not a vegetarian but, I DO love my veggies! And Indian cuisine offers some of the tastiest food I have ever known.

You're looking for a nutritionist or a dietician. From what I understand, they're not completely interchangeable specializations, but they're similar (kind of like psychiatrist and psychologist).

A problem is that too many people are walking around calling themselves things like "Natural Foods Nutritionist" or other such nonsense. Check their credentials before you speak to them about weight loss. Find out where they went to med school and ask if they have references. This is your health you're dealing with.

The pattern for losing weight is simple - consume less food and exercise more often - the difficulties arise when we really try to put that into practice! There are loads of opportunities to fail in the real world aren't there?! The sole thing which really worked for me is wu-yi tea, it can be seen in the resource box underneath, they have a few free trials remaining, it has been reported in Reader's Digest and USA Today. I melted away thrity pounds, it really does work!

What country are you in?

In the UK, a dietician is the correct and qualified person but beware, any old idiot can call themselves a "nutrionist" (I think a similar situation might apply in the US). These people may not necessarily be properly qualified. Gillian MacKeith is an example of this. Her knowledge of basic science is often wrong and her qualifications are not proper ones, however she calls herself a "nutrionist" because anyone can.

Your regular family doctor should be able to help you out with that and refer you to someone who can, if they are unable to. Good Luck
