Food Labels and starting a weight management plan of under 1,500 calories...?


My dr told me that I am in the 'morbidly obese' category and wants me to start to try to lose weight, but I haven't the slightest idea of how or where to begin. I am looking for information on HOW to exercise and what a good starting routine might be for me (to do at home, since I can't afford a personal trainer or to go to a gym.)

I am one who has always been very sediteray and never have had an exercise plan or routine (I am in my mid-40s and have problems with asthma and my back, hips and thighs and also have beaten Stage 2b Cervical Cancer.)

My dr didn't say much about HOW to lose weight, but I've read some information on the web and it all seems to indicate that I should start with a calorie intake of about 1,500 calories per day and work my way down to about 1,100-1,200.

How do I make sense of the food labels and know what I am suppose to look for (other than, if you can't pronounce it, you probably don't want to eat it)? I've heard of peo

Enter all the info and it will give you your caloric needs for weight loss. I wouldn't recommend the extreme weight loss as of yet.
