Is it possible to get a yeast infection before you've had your first period?

I don't think I have one but I was sitting on my bed listening to a song when I began to ponder this. Can you?

Yes, it's possible.

Getting a yeast infection has nothing to do with your periods.

Yes, you can get a yeast infection before you鈥檙e first period. I didn鈥檛 even know this until I read an article, but a healthy vagina actually has a small amount of yeast cells, but, when these cells get out of whack, then it can turn into a yeast infection. So really it has nothing to do with your period.

There are some things that can cause a yeast infection like antibiotics, low immune system, unhealthy diet, and diabetes. Perfumed douches can also lead to yeast infections. If you鈥檇 like to check out the article I read, you can find it here: http://www.womans-health.net/signs-of-ye... It explains the symptoms of yeast infections and the causes of getting one.

I hope this helps!
