Will it hurt to use Yeast Infection cream if...?

I think I might have a yeast infection. I'm very dry and itchy down there. Now here's the catch. I'm 4 weeks pregnant, and I don't know for sure if I have a yeast infection. I went to the clinic yesterday but they turned me away because my health card had been reported lost and I didn't have the money to pay them up front for their service.

Will it hurt me if I use yeast infection cream even if I don't have a yeast infection, and is it safe to take during pregnancy, and what would be the safest cream to use during pregnancy?

We have free health care here because of OHIP, but the clinic turned me away.

if it would make you feel better you can take something called "acidophilus" which is a bacteria found in yogurt that kills the yeast. i have resistant yeast and my doctor suggested that i take acidophilus daily to help fight getting yeast infections. it is safe to take during pregnancy.

You need to go to another clinic and get tested first. Then they will be able to give you something thats safe to use during pregnancy.

it shouldnt hurt you. It is really just a bacteria thing to balance you out. It shouldnt hurt your baby either. pregnancy actually makes it a ton easier to get yeast infections. I have only had them while I was pregnant and my doctors would prescribe me with it and said it wont affect the baby at all. You should have kind of a white discharge though. Just ask the pharmacist, they should be able to help you. and dont be embarrased. Tons of women get them and the pharmacists are asked about it all the time. Common place to them.

you shouldn't use it unless you're sure you have one especially if you're pregnant. try an urgent care or free clinic or something, but you don't want to risk the health of your baby.

whether you're pregnant or not you should treat the infection. i got one when i was 10 weeks pregnant and my OB said I could use over the counter Monistat, just don't use the one-day kind. the three-day cream worked great for me and i've had no problems since. i'm now almost 37 weeks pregnant and the baby and i are just fine!

no its better to wait to the doc because they take a vaginal swab and blood tests to see if there is an infection that requires taking an antibiotic and the swab to see what type of infection do you have and then the doc will prescribe medicine according to the results as they know what medicines are safe to use during pregnancy

I'm not sure whether it's harmful to use the creams if you don't truly have an infection, but when I had one at the beginning of my pregnancy, my doctor told me to use Monistat-3.

some creams are OK...if you cant ask a doctor just ask your pharmacist what product would be best to use..
