It is definitely not advisable to stretch your affected areas during a yeast infection, which could worsen the situation.

Prescriptions from the doctor would usually be Canestan pessaries or creams. These creams are typically available off the shelves of any pharmacy. however, you can also make use of live plain yogurt which is soothing and help to clear a mild attack of thrush.

In addition, douching twice daily with 10 drops of tea tree oil in a pint of warm water or using tea tre cream can be very effective. Tea tree has a mild local anaesthetic effect which is very helpful for itching and soreness. Garlic douches, two crushed cloves in a pint of warm water can also bring relief. "Cervaygn" vaginal cream, a blend of acidophilus with emollients derived from vegetable oils, helps to maintain normal vaginal flora and penetrates deeply into the vaginal tissue.

Scratching irritates the skin, and then on top of yeast itching, you have dry-skin itching. My gynecologist gave me this stuff called Novacort that worked wonders. It has Novacaine and aloe so it numbs some of the pain and heals the skin.

Also, scratching the skin can leave it raw and more open to infection. Clean yourself up down there with some plain, cool water to rinse out some of the yeast.

when you have a yeast inf. it is very raw down there. IF YOU notice when you do scratch it seems to irritate it more. What you need to do is take a warm rag in a tub and massage or cleanse the yeast then apply some monistat or prescription cream. I'd just keep that yeast cleaned out as much as possible as it is what causes the itching. So yes, it's better not to scratch.

There's also a prescription pill you can take to get rid of the yeast. Talk to your dr. bout that. You gotta treat it to get rid of the yeast.

Dont scratch it can make you very sore....I know its the one thing you wanna do when you have thrush or such like but try and leave it alone it will clear up quicker if you dont go scratching.
