My doctor prescribed fluconazole for a yeast infection two days ago.?

I took this medicine and all of the symptoms seemed to have disappeared; however, I tried to have sex today and it was very painful. It was almost as if my vagina was "closed off" and it was as if my boyfriend had to force his way in. Is this normal? should I wait longer than two days for the medicine to completely work?

You are probably still irritated. You really shouldn't have sex until you finish your medication and are sure you are better... sometimes what may seem like a yeast infection might actually not be one- dr's do make mistakes. If you are not using protection you can transmit a yeast infection to your partner and in return give it right back to you. So be careful and always use protection even if you are on birth control.

Also if you haven't had intercourse in a while your body will naturally tighten up. It is natural.

If you don't feel up to it definitely wait and finish up your medication. I hope you feel better soon!
