Question for women only regarding yeast infections.?

I have a yeast infection and it is hard for me to be at work, because of how uncomfortable it is. I would like to stay home and treat it so I can go back to work tomorrow, but my boss is male and I don't want to say "hey i have a yeast infection!" because either he won't understand how huge of a problem this is for women or I will just feel really embarrassed next time I see him. Also, on the first day of my period, I always have UNBEARABLE cramps... literally, I am in fetal position in my bathtub sobbing. How can I reduce this so I can at least go to work... also, on the days that they hurt the most, how can I call out sick for cramps? Men don't understand how bad these problems can be and I've always had a female boss who was very sympathetic. I don't want to say "ladies troubles" because that's a little generic..... please help!!

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP! :)

You need to tell him that you have a female issue, I understand how you feel with the cramps I had to deal with them this morning. I just make my husband rub my stomach when it happens in the morining while I am sleep. But what really helps me, and you should really do this- is when you are feeling just a little cramp or if you know when you are about to come on take a tylenol or midol I'm telling you it works so much better. I have learned after 3 yrs of having my cycle that I should take my pill before the cramps start because when I wait it really doesnt do anything for me! or I use a heating pad that usually works for me in about 5 mins., and i have very very bad cramps so hopefully this will work for you! Yeast infections hurt so bad I know I had one so farout of 19 yrs and it hurt so bad that I cried!!! But I just let heal by itself and drunk cranberry juice, and it may seem nasty but I also didnt wash myself with soap because it burns it and makes it worse, so basically drank cranberry juice and bathe with water! And also with cramps make sure you relax your muscles, I have a massager head shower thing instead of the regular thing and I usually put it on the massage and let the water massage my legs, this also helps me since I sometime do get cramps in my legs when I'm on my cycle!

Your boss doesn't need to know the details. Just tell him that you are unwell and need to stay home. Or, make a doctor's appt and tell your doc that you need some relief. He may be able to prescribe something for you for the cramps, and also for the infection, to keep it from recurring. I know that lady bosses are easier to talk to, as we are female. I currently have a male boss now, and if I tried to tell him the truth he would probably just roll his eyes. Just tell him you are sick.

for the yeast, just say you are sick and need to go home, dont go into details
take midol for the cramps, and start takin it the night before you get your period, so that they dont have a chance to start. Also, keep hydrated by WATER, no caffiene, no coffee, no tea, no pop.. that can make them worse.

Hi,

Yeast infections are so common its ridiculous and they always seem to come at the worse times. I had it for 6 months at one point which was a real low point and I hated the idea of using all those chemicals so I did some research on the internet and found one particular website so useful since it was completely natural!

In my experience it has been the only thing that got rid of my infection for good!
If you want to give it a try you can find it at http://www.QuickYeastInfectionCure.com

Good luck hun!

Just tell him that you aren't feeling well and won't be able to come to work. The reason why is not his business. I'm pretty sure employers are not actually allowed to ask the reason.

About the cramps, I used to have a similar problem. My doctor prescribed me some super strength ibuprofen and that helped a lot. You should talk to your doctor about this.

There are over-the-counter medicines, such as Lotrimin or Monistat, for yeast infections.

You may want to see a doctor for the cramps, and to verify that it is yeast, if you are not sure.

All you need to tell your boss is that you are not feeling well.

I don't have any idea about your problem. However, I came across a blog about yeast infection. Hope you find your answer there.

make up something. say you have to drive your sick mother out of town or something

Great question. I know exactly how you feel about having to explain "ladies troubles" to a male boss. If you are so uncomfortable from the infection, which I know how bad they can get!, and guys don't, you will just have to tell him you are not feeling well. In my place of work I don't have to get specific or explain any details. If you have sick time, that is what it's for, when your sick, and you should be able to use it when you are. It's that simple. As far as your bad cramps, you need to see your doctor if they are that bad, which sounds like they are. And for the days they hurt the most, you will have to do the same. Tell them you are needing to use a "sick day" today. I don't think you should have to tell them why. It's really none of their business. Hope you can get your cramps better so you don't have to call in to work on those days. good luck.

First - Tea Tree Oil. It works WONDERS for an infection. Seriously, I never knew relief until I used that stuff. You can get it at Wal-Mart or some place like that. Put a few drops in a small cup, and soak a tampon or cotton ball in it, then do your thing. Leave the tampon in for an hour or so if you do it that way. The itching and burning stops almost immediately and they say it helps to actually cure the infection. I do it once a day for a few days and it always clears up.

I get bad cramps and I use those ThermaCare patches. They help a little. Also don't eat a lot of salt before your period. You get all bloated and that NEVER helps you feel good.

As for your boss, just tell him you are too ill to work. It's not a lie, you really don't feel good. If he asks for details, well, give them to him. Hey, he asked!! I bet he'll never ask again.

Feel better soon! I know how horrible it is. :-)

Well you might have a UTI (urinary track infection) or you could just get alot of pain around your flow, try the normal pamprin, midol if not ask your doctor for a harder pain killer or get on birth control to help it. for a yeast infection drink lots of crannberry juice and get the over the counter treatments, and as for your boss just tell him you need a personal day or make somthing up if all eles fails be honest if your embarresed just rember it happends to all us girls and well he needs to get used to it! :]
Hope this helps! Good luck!

The best way to treat a yeast infection without using cream is a little pill called fluconazole. It's a potent antibiotic. One dose only, and it costs about 16 dollars if your insurance doesnt cover it. It's less hassle than cream and symptoms disappear faster. I get paralyzing cramps with my period, but what helps me is taking 2 midol (and no more than two cuz it is a diuretic and you will regret it) and drink clear fluids. My drink of choice is dasani spring water. Stay away from caffeine and processed sugar if you can. One more thing that can help with cramps: lots of exercise. The more you exercise the less discomfort you will have.

Try telling your boss that you have a medical condition, because that's what it is, that while isn't serious...may cause you to miss one or two days a month if it flares up. Chances are he won't ask many questions and you'll have got your point across without any embarassing details. I'm sure your doctor could provide you documentation if needed. Also, you need to see your doctor about the severity of your symptoms, birth control pills can stabilize your cycles and lessen cramping and bleeding as can other medications. You don't have to be incapacitated due to your period, there's many options. Good luck.
