Does plain yogurt really work to cure a yeast infection?

how much and how many times do i need to use the yogurt to make the yeast infection go away?

Some prefer to think of it as "holistic" rather than "red-neck" and it actually has been advised to me by doctors.

Monistat is fine and you can get Diflucan from you doctor, but those medications can have other reactions on your body also. And it's not like you will never get another yeast infection if you use them!

Why not try it the natural (and less expensive) way?

Apply plain yogurt, as the other gals said....AND eat yogurt, not just to prevent it, but to help clear it up. That does not have to be plain...it just has to "contain live active cultures" and make sure it says it has "acidopillis" (that is true for both the stuff you are applying and eating).

You can actually get the same effect by getting acidophills tablets from the vitamin section, but my doctor told me that eating the yogurt is much more effective. Personally, that's all I ever do anymore, I don't even bother applying anything. Eating the yogurt clears it right up!

Another tip: If you are taking antibiotics, or if you have been eating a lot off sugary foods (like at holiday time w/ all the christmas cookies & pies)...that's when you should eat extra yogurt to prevent a yeast infection!

Best of luck!

Eat as much probiotics like yogurt and cottage cheese as possible. They contain Acidophilus (A natural acid). This will neutralize the candida in the yeast infection and make it go away.

The symptoms (you may not experience all of them):
- white cottage cheese-like discharge
- some odor
- dryness (can cause bleeding)
- digestive problems
- itchiness
- burning urination
- painful intercourse
- a feeling of just not being "normal"

Here are some safe, natural cures you can implement.

- avoid scented soaps
- avoid sugars and complex carbs for a week
- air out the infected area while you're sleeping at night
- add grapefruit extract to your water during the day (balances hormones)
- eat probiotics like cottage cheese and yogurt
- shower frequently
-drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber to flush the infection

Prescriptions from the doctor would usually be Canestan pessaries or creams. These creams are typically available off the shelves of any pharmacy. however, you can also make use of live plain yogurt which is soothing and help to clear a mild attack of thrush.

Along with oral medications, there are also some other treatments that can be used effectively in the event of a yeast infection in the vaginal or anal areas. These include medicated suppositories and douches that can help to wash out any discharge as well as provide topical medication to the surface layer of the infection. Depending on the severity of the infection, these types of yeast infection treatments may be teamed with an oral medication to promote healing from two different approaches.

No it's an urban myth. It gets rid of it temporarily but it can come back. Just buy Monistat . It even comes with external itch cream & cool wipes. In the future don't listen to redneck home remedies.

You eat the yogurt as a preventative measure for yeast infections. Dont put it in your vagina. If you already have an infection--get an OTC treatment or go to doc.

Yup just gallop it on there for about 14 minutes
Look it up online also.
Just plain plain plain yogurt.

Try douching with diluted Braggs apple cider vinegar.

yes, sugarless, put in at night till you are over it
