I was asked if a white vaginal discharge is considered a yeast infection?

The person who asked me said they have no odor, but they have a slight white discharge but doesn't know if they should treat this as a yeast infection, What should i tell her?

She was on antibiotics and steriods from the doctor and everytime she takes them she gets this. she also looks is what is thrush on her tounge too.

I think that even though it might not be a yeast infection she should use something like Monestat 7.. its like a cream that she can put in her vagina for 7 days to treat the discharge. If not, she should she a gyno.

This may be a yeast infection, especially with the additional information about antibiotics.

There are over-the-counter vaginal creams that can address the infection in that area, but for thrush (oral yeast infection) a prescription from a physician is necessary. Usually a mouthwash or troches (lozenges) are prescribed for this.

If your friend's health problems and/or medications allow her to, eating yogurt may help combat yeast infections. Look for yogurt that says "live cultures" on the package; some of the generic yogurts use killed cultures.

White, Clear and Cream coloured discharge are normal.

oudour and itching are not (even though mild itching is to be expected in hot weather/tight clothes)

if she had a yeast infection she would know about it.:

unstoppable itching all the time.. like REALLY bad. An odd smell from discharge and burning when peeing.

ok antibiotics usually cause yeast infections because your PH balance gets messed up. Does it itch? It will itch like crazy. Does it look a little red and irritated? Some discharge is normal, but it should be more than usual and look "cottage cheese" like. If these are the symptoms then yes, treat a yeast infection. If you really are not sure, go see your OBGYN to make sure

I really don't think it is a yeast infection unless she gets that really awful itch down there, discharge is normal that is all you can really tell her.

it dosent sound like yeast infection
sometimes discharge is kinda whiteish
tell her if the texture is weird and lumpy it might be an infection

It could be. Does it itch like hell? That's how I KNOW I've got a yeast infection and not just some weird discharge.
