Aloe vera for yeast infections?

i read somewhere that aloe vera is like the enemy to yeast so if you apply a litle down there during an infection, it can do wonders. anyone else heard of this or know more?

i dont have a yeast infection, i was just curious if this was true. also the myth about eating yogurt isnt EXACTLY true, because youd have to eat a hell of alot of yogurt for it to do any real good.

no i only heard of sunburns which i have now but mostlikely its true cause it cures many things ask a friend who has it what it says on the bottle or look at directions it might say direct to irrating area blah blah ... get the point

So here is the skimmy. Aloe Vera contains a glyconutrient which is known as a natural 'healer'. However, it is not a magical cure all. It does very well on cuts and burns but a yeast infection is caused by a PH imbalance. This imbalance can be caused by taking antibiotics, being pregnant, or even due to an STD that you don't even know you have. Not trying to scare you or anything, cause it can also just happen. If you haven't had a yeast infection before, go see a doctor. Put your mind at ease. If you have had one before and know for sure that it is a yeast infection and you want to go the homeopathic root before trying an over the counter drug like monostat: try eating yogurt or taking supplements that have live cultures in them. These 'good' bacteria may help to restore the PH balance. Aloe Vera might help relieve some of the symptoms for a while but it won't make the infection go away. Be sure to seek medical help if the symptoms persist. An untreated yeast infection can lead to septis, a potentially deadly illness. Also, I've seen people recomend on yahoo answers to insert yogurt pops or plain yogurt into the body. Please don't do this. The yogurt may be contaminated in some way. The digestive system is designed to deal with these kinds of germs but the delocate lining of the reproductive organs are not. This could lead to Urinary Tract infections or Bladder infections or who knows what.

It doesn't sound very full-proof, although it could probably soothe the infection, but not get rid of it.

If you want to get rid of a yeast infection properly, you should go to the store and buy vagisil, or brands of that sort.
