Yeast Infection..?

I found out I'd had a yeast infection and I took Diflucan on Tuesday. It is now Friday, 3 days after i took it and the medication doesn't seem like it's working..
the symptoms seem to be worse. It doesn't even feel like it's getting any better even the slightest bit. is this normal? do i have to wait a while before it even STARTS to feel like its working? how long do i have to wait?

It's really important to follow the directions and dosage instructions for any prescription medication. Were you prescribed just one pill or several?

If you were prescribed just one pill and it doesn't seem to have done anything by now, call your doctor's office. You can ask to talk to a nurse about it and then they'll probably want you to come in for another appointment. Your yeast infection may need a more powerful treatment. It's also possible that you actually have a bacterial infection and need a different kind of medication.

If you're supposed to take more than one I want to especially warn you NOT to stop taking the pills because you think they aren't working. That is one of the worst things you can do with any medication. Just keep taking the pills as long as you're supposed to.

If you are having unpleasant side effects from the Diflucan check the warnings on the prescription. If you have symptoms it says you're supposed to contact your doctor about, or if you have problems that last more than a few days, also call your doctor's office and tell someone about it.
