Cephalexin and yeast infection. HELP!?

i actually have a vaginal yeast infection rite now and i was hoping my antibiotic, cephalexin, could treat it.would it make it worse or help it out?i need answers now, please!

Use of cephalexin medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or a new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection).

Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms.

A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Always take medication under medical supervision only because there are lots of side effects for these drugs.

Yeast infection Self Care
Use an over-the-counter anti-fungal vaginal cream.
Apply cool compresses to the perineal area (area between the vagina and rectum).
Avoid bubble baths, vaginal sprays, and douching (unless prescribed). Soaking in a tub of plain, lukewarm water, however, is helpful.
Avoid sexual intercourse for a few days to prevent further irritation.
If home treatment doesn鈥檛 relieve your symptoms, or if symptoms get worse, call the doctor.

Signs and Symptoms that needs care
Yellow or greenish vaginal discharge with itching, burning during urination, and/or pain during or after intercourse.
Sores in the genital area.
Lower abdominal pain.
Itching; white, cottage- cheese-like discharge; redness and swelling around vagina and labia.

Preventive steps
Clean perineal area (area between the vagina and rectum) daily with water.
Wear cotton underwear or underwear with a cotton crotch.
Avoid tight-fitting jeans and pantyhose.
Avoid deodorant tampons or frequent douches.
Avoid a high-carbohydrate diet.
Use adequate lubrication during intercourse.
Avoid scented or deodorant soaps, detergents, or fabric softeners that cause irritation.

Most women can treat yeast infections at home with over-the-counter medications:

Miconazole (Monistat-Derm, Monistat Vaginal)
Tioconazole (Vagistat Vaginal)
Butoconazole (Femstat)
Clotrimazole (Femizole-7, Gyne-Lotrimin)

Massage these remedies into your vagina and surrounding tissues for 1-7 days depending on the formulation. If increased irritation occurs to the area, discontinue the medication immediately.

If symptoms continue for more than 1 week, consult your doctor.

Antibiotics can cause yeast infections. And the longer you take them the worse it can get. You can treat it with over the counter meds. Or you can go to your doctor and they can treat it. The doctor is more expensive but it is confidential.
