My first yeast infection?

I just got home from my gyno and she told me I have a yeast infection. She gave me a prescription for a pill and cream. In my mind I feel better but my body still feels weak. I worried myself until i got sick over it. Has anyone else had a yeast infection that made them/their whole body feel bad? I'll start my meds today so I hope it'll go away and stay away.

Actually, when I've had them - I've only had all of my problems in that location - I would finish off the course of medication that she gave you and see if you feel better. If you still feel sore/sick, I would return to your doctor's office. The "weak body" symptoms aren't typically symptoms of a yeast infection, but they can be symptoms of stress.

I would try to not worry; you are entirely doing the right thing and not self-diagnosing your first yeast infection - that's what doctors are for - if it turns out not to be one - then you'll know right away because you are under professional care. Good luck to you and don't worry!

Yeast Infection Symptoms:

Vaginal itching
Vaginal discharge that may be thick, white, and lumpy like
cottage cheese
Vaginal soreness, irritation, or
burning
Rash or redness on the skin
outside the vagina (vulva)
Burning on urination
Painful vaginal intercourse (sex)

Unrelated symptoms to yeast infection:

Fever
Chills
Lower abdominal, back, or
shoulder pain
Nausea or vomiting
Foul-smelling vaginal discharge
Missed periods

drink plenty of liquids, its just your body trying to fight the infection thats all.
