Yeast infection: yogurt vs. over the counter meds? |
Which works better for a yeast infection yogurt or over the counter meds and which over the counter med would you recommend? Yogurt would be pretty messy, and you have to actually manage to get it into an applicator and then inside you. From past experience, Ive found the best way to overcome a yeast infection is to try home remedies. Yogurt is an easy and inexpensive remedy for a yeast infection. Eating yogurt that contains live cultures will help cure and prevent a yeast infection. Applying yogurt to the vagina will also help to cure a yeast infection. Dip a tampon in plain yogurt and insert it into your vagina. This can be done before going to bed at night and several times throughout the day. The yogurt contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is the bacteria that keeps the overgrowth of yeast in control. Monistat works well or a store brand equivalent. I do however recommend getting the one day treatment, as you don't want to suffer for 7 days, or even 3! well you could EAT yogurt and use the over the counter creams. |
