Last week I got a yeast infection I took the 1 day canesten and I thought it went away..So I had sex?

I had sex with my fiance.. and the condom tore! Does having a yeast infection increase your chances of condom breakage? Will having a yeast infection kill the sperm and prevent me from becoming pregnant? Could my fiance get the yeast infection too? Should I try monistat instead of canesten to get rid of this stubborn yeast infection?!

I know, lots of questions.. please help !!

Yeast infections do not typically cause condoms to break, although sex is often drier when you have a yeast infection which causes more friction and could have been the cause.

It will absolutely not prevent pregnancy. So if it was your only form of birth control watch for your next period. If it is late take a pregnancy test.

One-day treatments very rarely work. Use a three day treatment (either Canesten or Monistat). If the symptoms still do not clear go to your doctor.

Unfortunately yeast infections can be transmitted sexually, but it is rare. You used a condom, and even though it broke, it will reduce the chances. If your boyfriend starts having symptoms he should see a doctor.

I don't know about condoms breaking or yeast infections killing sperm. But what I do know is men normally don't get yeast infections. And normally you can get the one day treatment but you should not have sex for about a week. Let everything get back to normal. Another thing if you changed soaps make sure to change back to what you were using, changing to a strong soap make some women get yeast infections. I like Dove and don't get any yeast infections. One year when I was at a hotel and forgot my soap at home and I got one, That is when I found out about soaps. Hope this helps.

it could make the environment inhealthy for the sperm. but you should refrain from any swexual activity if you have any kind of infection down there. men can catch the yeast infection as well. try using a 3 or 5 day treatment instead of the one day.

I know your fiance can get a yeast infection. As far as the condom breakage or pregnancy I don't think it would have any effect.
