Can you use yeast infection cream on BV?

Ive had multiple yeast infections but i know this is different.. i have all the signs of BV and it seems right. If i have a Yeast infection cream from my last yeast infection.. would it at all help with my BV? because both are cause by PH balance in the vagina... thank you!!

NO!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

While disturbances in vaginal acidity (pH) can *CONTRIBUTE* to yeast infectoins and BV, true causes of both are microbial.

Candida albicans is a yeast (fungus) that causes yeast infections. It lives naturally in the vagina, but every now and then it overgrows.

Gardnerella vaginalis is a bacteria that causes BV. It too can live naturally in the vagina, but goes crazy sometimes, too.

You cannot use the same drug to kill the yeast and the bacteria. Doing so can actually result in aggravated symptoms, and certainly won't cure the problem. See a doctor, get swabbed, and you will probably be put on metronidazole (the appropriate treatment for BV).
