Does a yeast infection have to be itchy?

There are 2 types of common genital yeast infections: one is called external, the other internal. So, itching occurs only with the external kind, and discharge happens only with the internal kind. Left untreated, it will spred to both internal and external. That's why over-the-counter vaginal yeast infection med products come as either external creams, internal creams orsupposities, or combo.

It''s important to obstaine from sex/forplay during an active STD and treatment, for both partners. Make sure your partner is treated at the same time you are so that re-infection from each other does not occur.

and when i first got a yeast infection i didnt itch for a while.i just got cottage cheese like discharge,and then i started to itch!it really depends for each person!
