I've been taking Cipro for 4 days. Is this the beginning of a yeast infection? |
I woke up this morning feeling like someone put me in a dehydrator. My eyes, mouth, vagina, and everything feels dry and scratchy. I don't itch but is this the beginning of what's to come? Most all antibiotics wipe out the good flora in your body while its knocking the bad stuff out of your body too. It doesn't know how to tell the difference. Yes, it sounds like you are starting to have a yeast infection. Yes, it is most likely caused by the antibiotic Cipro. My concern is that you are complaining of your mouth being dry too. If you are getting thrush mouth, which is also a type of yeast infection, then a vaginal cream like monistat will not do the trick. You will need to be put on something like Diflucan that you take by mouth and it will get in your blood steam and kill they yeast infections no matter where they are. Do it soon though or you will be miserable. Also eat as much yogurt as you can stand; it helps alot when trying to prevent a yeast infection or trying to keep it from spreading. Hope that helps. I sent an e-mail with a little more information. Hope it helps. Report Abuse What are you taking the Cipro for? THis is a strong antibiotic. I was prescribed this when I had a urinary tract infection. I don't think it would cause you to get a yeast infection though. Call ur doctor |
