Can you get a yeast infection (or other problems) from massage lotions or oils?

My wife believes that anything down there is going to give her an infection or something.

No. It is too much sugar in the diet or use of antibiotics that can cause yeast infections.

What your wife is probably concerned about is vaginal bacterial infections.

Irritation can be caused by using lotions and oils that are heavily scented or contain a harsh chemical. Irritation in that area can be highly uncomfortable and can lead to a bacterial infection.

Bacterial infections are sometimes caused by hygiene problems, (wiping issues!!) which can spread matter from the bottom to the vaginal area...causing a bacterial infection. They can also arise from dirty fingernails - any kind of hygeine issues.

There are safe lotions and oils which can be used in this area - these are usually products which are also safe to use with barrier methods of contraception, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend using any lotions or oils (especially perfumed) in personal areas of the body.

Yeah you can. And they suck. If you have lubrication problems, try different ways of stimulating her. If there is still a problem, Astroglide is best or there are some waterbased (as astroglide is silicone based) lubes out there that are really good and feel more natural. You can find them at some sex shops or if you know anyone who does Passion Parties, contact them. But every woman is different, if she gets infections easily, have her ask the gyno what they recommend.

Bacteria, fungus, yeast trives on damp , dark and wet conditions.
Massage oil and lotion are applies on the surface of the skin its not likely you get infection from it...unless the lotion or oil is contaminated or used by a carrier

Yes...a woman can even get a yeast infection from too much sugar in the diet.

AstroGlide is recommended by GYN's. Other than that or KY, everything else stays out of the vagina.

Yes, the vagina isn't supposed to have anything put down there except water. You aren't even supposed to wash it with soap.

Only if you dont clean yourself properly afterwards.
But really she shouldnt get any problems from them.
Unless she has like an allergic reaction or something
