I think I might have an yeast infection?!?

I just started having Pain in the vagina during sexual intercourse less than a week ago. Do you think it might be an yeast infection? If so, how long does it take to go away? What can I do to make it go away faster?

Its not gross, well it is but its nothing to be ashamed off most women suffer from this at some time, some people suffer quite often actually.

If the pain is accompanied by increased itching, Thick white discharge( tmi) and burning when you pee around the entrance to the vagina. I think it would be pretty safe to assume that you have it.

I have this before and i went to the pharmacy and just asked for a thrush tablet. Its one tablet and it clears up almost immediatly but if you have had it for a while probably take about a week.

However if you dont want to stop your sexual activity you can buy a pack of caneston which includes the tablet and a cream to sooth the area. However i must warn you yeast infection CAN be sexually transmitted if your not using a condom, so your partner could also have it and then you will just be passing it back and forth , so keep a look out to see if he has any symptoms and he can take a tablet and it will ease it also.

Good luck and dont panick!!

Yeast infections are more itchy than painful. Look at your vagina with a hand mirror. If it looks like little chunks of cottage cheese are down there... then it is a yeast infection. If it is, call your doctor and have them call in a prescription for you. Over the counter products will make it more difficult to clear up if it happens again in the future.

It sounds though that you are experiencing something else. Intercourse can hurt sometimes. But there are some things that can be the cause of this... such as certain STDs. If you do not see the cottage cheese thing I talked about, call your doctor and make an appointment for a pap smear to be sure there is not something else going on.

With a yeast infection you usually have alot of thick clumpy discharge that smells kinda vinegary. Pain isn't usually associated with this, more burning and itching. I would visit your doctors to be sure what is going on. If it is a yeast infection make sure your partner is also treated or else you will just pass it back and forth

girl... u know when you have a yeast infection. it's probably one of the worst feelings you will ever have. it's like a crazy, crazy itching that makes you feel like you are going to die and you also have this whitish cottage cheese-like discharge. you need to go to the doctor and get diagnosed, because if your vagina hurts during sexual intercourse it may mean an std. if your discharge is not white and it's like yellow or green, that's a sign of infection. better safe than sorry...

Don't think those are symptoms of a YI.

If you have a smelly discharge and it's itchy down there, then you probably do.

And to make it go away faster, you need to go to the Pharmacy and get a YI kit like Monastat.

go to your dr.
its kinda contagious to - and sex could be making it much worse.
if you dont want to se a dr.
you can get pills/cream etc over the counter at the pharmacy - canasten ect.

typically with a yeast infection you have foul smelling discharge and a lot of itching. i would go to a doctor and see what's going on!

Yeast infection isn't just pain.It also the bad odor and itching.Go see a doctor soon.

it won't go away by itself. it will only get worse. you should go to your local cvs and get a thing called vagasil.

a yeast infection is more then pain you should see a dr and get it checked

umm go to your gyna/obn
and stop sharing this information with us
do you think were doctors???
use rubber next time smarty!

yuck!...go get a gel you put in your vagina..to clear it up will take 3 days after that

goto doctor.

call the doctor...it could possibly be a STD.
