Can a yeast infection spread to other parts of the body? |
I have a horrible rash on my arms, mostly covering the insides. It is worse on the insides of my elbows and at the armpits. I'm taking antibiotics, but they aren't working, and I can't get in to see the dermatologist until Monday. The itching is driving me mad, and I'm considering trying some yeast infection cream or yogurt to see if it will help or kill it. What do you think? Will it work? I've tried every over-the-counter thing I can think of: Hydrocortisone cream, Lidocaine gel, Calamine lotion, regular lotion, Neosporin, Benadryl tablets, and of course, the antibiotic I was prescribed. Any ideas? Believe it or not this happened to my husband (I know, gross) and it did spread to his arms, etc. It was raised and extremely itchy. His doctor had him use an over-the-counter cream called Lotrimin. It's in the medicine aisles near foot care...It's for yeast and fungus. You can always try that.
