EMBARESSING!!!!!! the joys of being pregnant (yeast infection) :( ?

i have a question?
has anyone on here gotten a yeast infection while pregnant?

i am having the most severe itching i have ever ever had. (ive never even had a yeast infection)..and im guessing thats what it would be?

i was tested for ALL STD's as soon as i was pregnant and fine and clean...

so anyone else have this issue?

mine is unbearably itchy? is that how yours was?

OMG! I had this problem bad with my last pregnancy and nothing over the counter worked for me. Here is what did. Draw a warm bath just high enough to cover your hips. Add one cup of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of baking soda and sit in it. This will help with all the discomfort. Also wear loose fitting clothing and cotton pantys. If you get it alot during pregnancy then you need to look at the refined sugars you are consuming.
Hope this helps!

Yep, I've had a few while pregnant unfortunately, but if you are unsure of what it is you should really have your Dr. do a urine test for you. Then they can prescribe something. Or you can use something over the counter....I've gone both ways, but the Dr. treatment was shorter and cheaper (cause I only had to pay a copay rather than buy an over the counter treatment). You can get one day treatments otc, but it will cost you more for sure.
During both of my pregnancies I had an increase in normal daily discharge, and have had a bunch of probs with that including just exterior irritation (which I was told once it was basically mommy diaper rash, ha ha. ) But if you have the itching like that, and you can tell its coming from internally, you probably do have a yeast infection.

Definitely check with your doctor. I thought I just had a yeast infection and turns out I have BOTH a yeast infection and a bacterial infection. (VERY itchy and uncomfortable!!) Both are really common during pregnancy. Both have similar symptoms, so have your doctor do a test. Yeast can be treated over the counter, but you will need a Rx if you have bacterial.

I would go to your doctor to make sure its a yeast infection. I though I had a yeast infection and treated myself. I also told my doctor and she told me it was fine. Two weeks later I was still very itchy and irritated. So I made an appointment and I actually had a bacterial infection, which was treated with antibiotics. They can both be very similar in symptoms with itching, burning and redness.

awww.. poor you.. that is the worst feeling you can have on top of being pregnant.. lol but yes its actually very common and alot of women get yeast infections while pregnant.. or if you are stressing out alot yeast infections will come and go.. i would call ur dr to find out if monistat is okay to take/do while pregnant because the monistat 3 helps alot.. but first i suggest you go get it diagnosed as a yeast infection because it wont get away without treatment.. when i first got pregnant that was the first thing i got but they prescribed me some antibiotics to kill the infection and within a couple of days it was like freedom let loose.. lol i def know how uncomftorable it feels.. good luck ma'am.. :)

Being preg with num2 it seems like I get one every other week. Def go to the dr and let him prescribe you some because I went to the drug store and got a OTC med and accidently grabbed the wrong one (there's 2 diff meds, and one is safe for pregnancy and the other isn't reccommended) and actually started bleeding the next day. Thank god everything was fine and my cervix was just irritated but it freaked me the hell out. My dr said just call him and he'll call something in for me next time. So yeah go to the dr. Good luck and congrats!

I didn't get one with my pregnancy but that does sound like you have one and they are very common but you will want to treat it asap. You can buy the kits to test in the pharmacy isle now and then treat as normal with the vaginal medication. If you are still not sure see your doctor and they can check it out.

I had the same problem and I wasn't aware of it at the time and it sent me into early labor. The hospital was able to stop the contractions and get me to go home and they said that it was a yeast infection. I had to get the monostat stuff and use it for a week. Once a night for 7 days. then I was fine. That was the first time I ever had a yeast infection.

oh yeah. ive had a pretty much nonstop yeast infection my entire pregnancy!!! ugh. my doctor said its normal because of hormonal and chemical changes.

YES very very itchy and ALOT of nasty thick chunky [i know..PUKE] discharge, ive had to wear a pantiliner my whole pregnancy because of it!!! ugh i hate it!! AHH!

My first yeast infection came during my pregnancy as well. I was so itchy yet sore down below and had this gross think white discharge. I was put on something to help and it was great once it was gone!

nope i havent gotten one yet go to the doc they will give you stuff to help

eta; why thumbs down i just told her to go to the doc and i havent ever had one

Omg. I was just thinking that last night as I was in bed basically crying.. lol
