Yeast infections can be caused by not wiping properly when you pee, wiping back to front, having a lot of sex (especially unprotected), and depending on some foods that you eat - that can cause one as well.

If you have been tested for STDs and know that you're STD negative, then a yeast infection can still feel like you have some sort of disease down there. You can feel a slight itchy feeling to burning feeling around your labia and inside your vagina. Yeast infections are also common much in pregnant women. Sometimes your body processes to much bacteria and this can cause them. You can also notice that your vagina may seem slightly redder than normal when you have a YI.

Ways to get rid of them?

Putting plain yogurt inside your vagina and letting it sit for 15-20 minutes because the active cultures can help kill the bacteria

drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice

wiping properly

eating yogurt

and monistat 3 and anything else your doctor recommends!
