Can yeast infections cause skin to peel?

If you are not a woman, or have not had a yeast infection please do not waste my time with your juvenile responses. I'd like to think that we could all be mature adults on the internet. That being said...

I am starting to suspect that I suffer from yeast infections. I am 22 years old. This has happened to me probably around a handful of times, and it is typically a week or so before my period. I experience itching in the vaginal area. At certain times I don't even feel it, and at other times it is a very severe itching. The inside of my labia minora are red, as is the opening of the vagina. After a few days of this, the skin on my labia minora begins to peel off. At first when I looked I thought it was toilet paper but i went to take it off and indeed it was skin. Please share your yeast infection experiences and any advice you can offer to help me. (Yes I will be making a DR appointment) Thank you!

PS - I've had this occur about a handful of times over the past few years... even before I was sexually active.

this has occured SINCE before i was sexually active. I have been sexually active for about 4 years now. I am in a long-term monogomous relationship so I am on the pill - no lube or condoms...
:-(

I've never had these symptoms with a yeast infection but when i had itching and peeling skin, i went to the Dr and he told me i was allergic to the lubricant my partner and i were using. Could this be it?

Edit :Oh sorry i just read that you had this before you was sexually active. Drink lots of cranberry juice also to prevent further yeast infections!

Once I had a yeast infection and my skin peeled, but it was because of the medicine I was using. I think you probably just have dry skin which is itchy.

about it you can find information from the following website
