Hate condoms, body has a bad reaction to birthcontrol spermacides give me yeast infections?

is there a differen methd of birthcontrol out there i just got off birthcontrol because it made me nuts my boyfriend hates condoms and spermacidal jelly gives me yeastinfections and is to mssy or else id use a diaphragm

I would not recommend the Depo shot, it contains the same hormones the pill has...only you'll be stuck with it in your system for several months. I feel your pain, I've had the same experiences. Have you looked into getting an IUD? They have two kinds. The copper ones don't have any hormones in them, but they block the sperm from getting into your fallopian tubes (where they meet the egg). They also have a plastic IUD that contains a lesser amount of hormones that the pill does. These are great solutions for women who react badly to the pill. It doesn't have to be removed for 5 years, but it can easily be removed anytime you decide you're ready to start trying for a baby.

Angel E:
Please do not tell her her reasoning for not being on birth control is a poor excuse. I've been there, I've reacted very badly to every for of hormonal birth control I've tried (and believe me, I've tried just about everything out there). Spermicides too, cause yeast infections when I use them. I do not think her only options should be choosing between bad sex, an unplanned pregnancy or living miserably for as long as she's on birth control. Speaking from experience, that can be a living hell.

Actually, before my husband and I got married it was me that said I hated condoms, they are just really uncomfortable. And I think the jelly things are just gross. I tried birth control pills years ago and didn't like the side effects but a friend of mine told me about a shot you could get that keeps you from getting pregnant for up to 5 years. My friend loves it and says it makes her periods so light she doesn't even need anything more than a pantiliner when she gets it, however I haven't tried it so you may want to talk to a doctor. Please keep in mind though that anything you use will not be 100% effective and without using condoms your risk of getting infections or catching STD's is far greater.

I just love it when men say they hate condoms. It makes me want to ask how much they like unplanned pregnancies. ;-)

You should do some reading on available options and also talk to a doctor about this. There are a lot of other options - depo provera, the ring, IUDs, etc. Oh, and different pills with different dosages, etc....although note that the low-dosage pills are not as effective and you have to take them at the same time every day (and use a barrier method when you are on antibiotics and other medications which might interfere).

My friend swears by the ring- you can take it out to have sex and it still protects you as long as you put it back after wards- not sure what the Time limit is... but from what I understand it is less hormonal than most of the contraceptives out there!

first of all, contraception does not protect you from having STD's, so if i were you i would tell your bf to use condoms!
and you can use mirena (coil), there are implants for in your arms, or try those injections, they work for 3, 6 and 12 months.
hope this helps!

the shot.. once every three months.. although thats only good for 2 years, after that you are not suppose to get it unless you wait like a long time, hmm try pills, i dont like them but they work ok..

Don't have sex it is that easy. You should be using two different forms of birth control when you do have sex. i.e. the pill and a condom.

get some condoms that are not lubricated

poor excuse.if u knew that u would get an std u would use condoms and if he didnt want a baby u would both take precautions

i use the ring. i love it.

try marriage

get the pill, or the shot. or start saving for a little bundle of joy! :)

The shot. Have you tried that yet?

Which would your boyfriend hate more....using a condom or paying for a baby?

the pill, the shot, or an IUD

Thats it for you guys. Go get your tubes tied?
