Im taking an antibiotic for UTI and now havea yeast infection.Can I start monistat and still take antibiotic?


Im 12 weeks pregnant and had no symptoms with UTI. I have been taking the antibiotic for 4 days and still have 6 days to go. Im worried that If I take the monistat at the same time as taking the antibiotics it will not work.

Call your doc to ask what he wants you to do. Monistat is fine but call first to ok it with the doc. Next time you need antibiotics be sure to eat lots of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules to help prevent a yeast infection.

I always seem to be on antibiotics and get yeast infection along with them...i always take my pills and take monistat and i was ok' and the yeast went away,,,,some people are different though...i would give it a try it can;t hurt as it;s not another medicine that can't be mixed...call your dr,if in doubt... lol
i had the same problems when i was pregnant with my son. my doctor told me i could use vagisil cream, dont insert anything into your vagina. but taking meds for uti and yeast infection are ok
Yes you should be okay. Whenever I take antibiotics I always get a yeast infection so I take both meds at the same time. If you are worried about inserting the medicines maybe you should talk to your doctor about prescribing you the yeast infection pill. You only take one and to me it works better and quicker than the other medicine.
