Will it hurt to use over the counter med for a yeast infection? |
I'm pretty sure that's what wrong with me, but not 100%. Me and my partner have recently been having a lot more sex than usual and i'm not used to it, so i may just be a bit irritated, but it's been 4 days or so and i'm still sore and a bit itchy. Should I just go buy something over the counter for yeast infections or should i see my doctor first? I wont hurt if you buy some Monistat and try it. It will have no adverse reaction. They have a 1 or 3 day formula. If that doesn't work then I would go see your doctor. Check out the link and compare your symptoms. Source(s): http://www.monistat.com/index.jsp... I WORK FOR AN OB/GYN. YOU CAN TRY OVER THE COUNTER MONISTAT FIRST, IF YOUR IRRITATION DOES NOT IMPROVE SCHEDULE AN APPOINMENT TO SEE YOUR GYN DR. UNLESS, YOU ARE HAVING A GREENISH OR GRAYISH DISCHARGE THEN I WOULD GO AHEAD AND SCHEDULE TO SEE THE DR., WHEREAS THAT IS A SIGN OF A BACTERIAL INFECTION OR STD. DO NOT WORRY, AND GOOD LUCK. I KNOW YEAST AND VAGINITIS CAN BE THE PITS! It could be symptoms of something far worse. Not to mention you might be allergic to this OTC product. SEE YOUR DR! Just go to the store and get something for it. Save the trip to your doctor. You can treat it right in the comfort of your own home. Just get some "Monistat 1" and do exactly as the directions tell you. The product will not hurt you in any way. Most of us women have had a yeast infection and most of us have used this product. It works great and will clear up the infection. Make sure that your not having sex while your using this product. It will defeat the whole purpose of you using it if you continue to have sex while it's trying to be cleared up. |
