How long should I wait to have sex if I am taking a yeast infection treatment? |
I havent been to the doctor and been formally diagnosed, but I have what I believe to be a yeast infection, so today I purchased a three day treatment (I took the first dose about nine hours ago and the itching is relieved), however when is it safe to start habing sex again? Should I wait two weeks or can I do it on the first day I am done with the med and symptom free? Thanks!! To get the full benefit of the treatment it would be better to wait until after your last day of treatment. Also, using condoms and diaphragms, for birth control or prevention of certain sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), while undergoing treatment is not recommended as the ingredients in various products can weaken latex. http://www.monistat.ca/english/faq.html... Come on lady!!, go and see a doctor!! don't ask that here, and if you are thinking on having a child, go to the doctor for him, you don't want the child to be born dis formed for your lack of self care!! please!! I would recommend that you wait atleast a week. You should wait until your treatment is finished before having sex again. You dont want it to come back again and have to start the treatment all over again! So after your treatment have sex and if you get the infection again rather go see your doctor this time in case it needs serious attention! Dont worry its only 3 days!! LOL! what you may think is a yeast infection can actually be an STD. i advise you to go to the doctor to get tested and have a friend go with you to feel more comfortable...just an idea! sorry to make you paranoid Oh I feel bad for you. Yeast infections are one sure fire way to make you feel miserable. Glad the medication is resolving it though. You should really wait the full two weeks, as you need to give the medication time to work fully. Yeast infections are notorious for returning, so it really is better to wait until there is no way that stuff could still be there before having sex again. No fun in the short term, but in the long term, you will be thankful when that infection does not return. |
