If you have a yeast infection will the doctor have to look at you????


im 17 and i think i have a yeast infection but im still a virgin and my mom wants me to go to the doctor but im kinda embarrased!!
will the doctor have to look at me down there??????
or a nurse?????
or can i just tell them my syptoms!!!!!!

First, there is nothing to be enbarrased about! Absolutely nothing! Just think about it - doctors look at it ALL THE TIME!
Even if the doctor will believe you by your telling your symptoms (though it would be rather unprofessional), you will have to go to a gyno very soon anyway for a check up , since you are 17. Best time to start regular check ups is 18, no matter whether you are virgin or not. And the most accurate way for a doctor to prescribe you the right medication is , of corse, if she collects some of your discharge and looks through the microscope. They do it right at the office. Once I thought I had yeast, too, but a doctor looked at it and said it's not yeast at all. So, go ahead and do it. Nothing scary or embarrasing!
Most of the time they will give you the prescription just by asking series of questions. So don't worry. You will be okay
They would have to look at you because it could be something else. Its not fun, but it is what we must go through to be healthy.
If seeing a male doctor embarrasses you, tell your mom you want to change to a female doctor NOW.
If its your first yeast infection you should see a doctor just to make sure it isn't anything else more serious. However, if you have the symptoms of a yeast infection an over the counter medicine will do the trick.

If you do go to the doctor it is a quick, painless exam where they just get a small "sample" to test. Don't be embarrassed: they are professionals and have seen thousands of vaginas and yours is no different. Your health (and comfort) is more important than being embarrassed. Besides, get it over with, a smart woman gets annual visits and paps!!
NO WAY JUST GET THE STUFF FROM THE STORE!!! BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE SURE CUZ IT CAN BE SOMETHING ELSE
Yea they have to see the discharge. Dont worry just relax and remember they are there to help you, they are professionals.
