Lower back pain during yoga?

I was doing some yoga postures, specifically the "cat lift and tuck", I may have extended a bit too far on my lift because when I tucked, I felt an awful pain in my lower back. I stretched it out, but it still feels sore. What did I do?

You may have hyperextended. I would suggest not doing any yoga positions that strain the lower back and visit a chiropractor or doctor to make sure you don't have something more serious going on. Back injuries can be very deceptive, and sometimes will not cause you REAL pain for several days after the actual injury. Please go see a doctor and make sure you are okay, dont' do any yoga or excersizes for at least a week to make sure everything is all right.
If it is all right, be very careful when doing your yoga, and listen carefully to your body. Tune in to little twinges, and dont' be afraid of them, but if you feel a slight pain, go easy and don't jerk or force yourself quickly into any positions. Listen carefully to your body.

Good luck!

You might have pulled a muscle. If you're in a lot of pain I would go to your doctor in case it's something more, like a pinched nerve or something.
