Does yoga help u skate faster in hockey??? yoga would probably be more beneficial for a goalie then trying to skate faster. Yoga and Pilates address your flexibility and core strength. These are essential in any sport. Skate faster? yes, if you do the right exercises. You need to do ones for building strength in the balance muscles in your legs. However, it's probalby going to help more if you learn better technique by working with a coach. I just fail to see how it will make you faster. Unless you're working the fast twitch muscles in your legs, your speed won't improve. It will make you have better balance, yes, but not faster. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
