Christians! What do you think of Yoga? Is it against the teachings of the Bible ? No, of course not! I pray when I do my yoga, because I feel relaxed and meditative. It's my favorite time to pray, in fact! Yes it is. It is humanism and nuturalism combined, which teaches its students to worship and serve the ceature(ie: us, the person) more than the Creator, and it teaches that sin does not exist. Besides yoga, other similar belief systems which have also become popular, have caused many to be under the power of what I refer to as, 鈥淭he Great Me鈥?syndrome, which multitudes have submitted themselves to; which is the cause for the spirit of selfishness to be prevailing over so many lives, not knowing that they collectively are the cause of much indifference in the world. I've seen this question before and don't understand where in the Bible yoga is even mentioned. I'm very confused. We are bombarded by messages of yoga鈥檚 peaceful and healthful benefits, but what we don鈥檛 hear, specifically in the United States, is the true origins of this type of lifestyle. Yoga is a good form of relaxing the body and the mind so you can concentrate on God, so, within itself, it is a good exercise and good to concentrate on the things of faith of love, joy and peace. This is what a Christian is supposed to do. You come back for more. How brave! Yoga used for physical conditioning, exercise purposes is not against the teachings of the Bible. Yoga is used by those who practice Transcendental Meditation, Budhism and Hinduism. This use would be against the Bible. it's not a problem unless it hurts anyone or tries to convert anyone... "NOPE." It's exercise. It's as religious as you make it. as long as I concentrate on God during the meditation time and not get into the real mediation and the state of mind that the meditation cna put me in, because it can allow critters to come in and reek havic. It's exercise. Exercise cannot POSSIBLY give anyone spiritual problems. Calming your mind CANNOT attract "demons". That's utterly ridiculous. Yoga as an exercise? No If you mean the "New Age" movement and all that is with it, yes, it is wrong! (If you do meditate only on The Lord God, then the 'exersize' is ok though.) Yoga as a healthful exercise program seem like an excellent way to get centered and be able to focus even more on God. Yoga is not related to any religion but a way of attaining immortality i guess spiritually. It hurts, pulls muscles, and is ineffective. There was no such thing as Yoga at the time the Bible was written so it doesn't say. |
